Why groom your dog?
Your dog’s coat and skin are their protection from the elements, if their coat is tangled, or if their skin is oily & greasy or dry & flaky, they don’t have proper protection. Think of it as if you are going out in the rain or snow with only half a coat on; not much protection is it?
One of the best things you can do for your dog every day is to take a few minutes and either run a comb or brush through their coat. Brushing loosens dead hair which helps air circulate to your dog’s skin. Notice their skin. Is it dry or flaky? Many of us suffer from dry skin in the winter due the dry air; your dog may also have dry skin.
If you are bathing your dog at home, use a mild shampoo for dogs and make sure you rinse away all traces of the shampoo before you dry your pup. Do Not Use your shampoo on your dog!
